Patty Baber leads the National Commercial Division at Action Title Research, focusing on growing ATR’s nationwide commercial title search business. Patty brings more than two decades of title industry experience and extensive expertise in both regional and nationwide commercial title research.
Patty began her career in the title industry in 2003 in New Jersey, developing extensive hands-on experience conducting title searches throughout New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. After relocating to California, she founded and operated her own title search company and expanded her expertise into complex commercial and nationwide title research. Over the course of her career, Patty has personally completed more than 10,000 title searches, both in courthouses and online, and has worked on a remarkable variety of complex and challenging properties and projects across the country.
Her experience includes high-profile commercial properties, golf courses, Manhattan real estate, cell tower sites, airports, the California Aqueduct, U.S. border properties, surface and subsurface ownership, air rights, back-to-patent research, data centers, renewable energy projects, agricultural properties, and other complex title matters. That combination of hands-on search experience and national commercial expertise gives Patty a deep understanding of what clients need when a title project goes beyond the ordinary.
When she’s not immersed in the title world, Patty is a self-described homebody who loves making her home her happy place. She’s always organizing, redecorating, or dreaming up a new design for one of her rooms. When it’s time to relax, you’ll usually find her hooked on the latest mystery, legal, police or medical drama (Grey’s Anatomy is a longtime favorite) or curled up with a good book on her back deck, taking in a spectacular 180-degree view of Los Angeles.
